Preston’s Best Kept Fitness Secret….
The best things in life aren’t always the loudest, cleverly promoted or stylishly presented…
Often secret gems are hidden around us, with little knowledge of their existence.
One such gem is the amazing REPS Gym located off Roman Way on the outskirts of Preston and close to Grimsargh/Longridge – I highly recommend you pay it a visit.
I have trained at REPS Gym on/off for over 12 years – and really have found it has no equals in Preston and the surrounding areas with what it has to offer.
Every time I take a ‘break’ from this great gym, walking back through the entrance always reminds me straight away just what a superb gym this is!
Whilst it isn’t the swankiest or highest tech gym around, REPS has a whole range of elements that really can’t be bought!
It feels a privilege to train myself and my clients in this legendary place of fitness.
REPS gym is the very best Preston has to offer…
But of course I’m going to say that, right!?
How about some justification of such a bold claim – well, here goes…
1) EQUIPMENT VARIETY:
REPS range and variety of equipment is second to none!
I’ve never been to a gym with so much choice of equipment for every muscle group – major or minor – you can imagine.
In terms of square footage it’s not the biggest of gyms, but what has been fitted into the space is truly amazing.
If you can’t find a machine or piece of equipment to work a specific muscle at REPS, then that muscle doesn’t exist!
2) OPENING TIMES:
The gym opens at 5am each weekday (6.30am Wednesday’s), making it perfect for a pre-work session.
The gym remains open until 9pm each night.
There are reduced hours at weekends, but still suitable to get a good workout in should you wish.
The gym is full of great friendly people who just love to workout.
The ‘cold feel’ of many gyms is not something you could ever associate with REPS.
It’s like a big family in there, just a family that all works out hard!
Whether you’re a gym regular or complete novice, you can always be assured of a warm welcome.
4) LEG SESSION:
Whilst I’ve already mentioned the variety of equipment in place, the real ‘jewel in the REPS crown’ is the variety of leg working machines and equipment on offer – it truly is different class.
There are multiple machines for absolutely every muscle you could ever want to work.
Most gyms cover quads, calves, hamstrings, and sometimes adductors and abductors, with one machine for each – REPS has multiple machines for which is brilliant.
5) THE OWNER:
Steve Todd is the most knowledgeable gym owner I have ever met.
What he doesn’t know about health and fitness really isn’t worth knowing!
Double that up with the fact he’s one of the nicest guys you will come across, it’s a winning combination.
6) SEPARATE CARDIO AND FUNCTIONAL FITNESS ROOM:
This area was not present a few years back, but quality gyms don’t ever stand-still and remain the same – they grow and progress.
This is certainly the case with REPS, and Steve made a massive investment in time and money in creating the upstairs cardio/functional fitness area.
And what a great addition it has proved to be!
Stacked with treadmills, cross-trainers, rowing machines and a top class ab/core area, I spend a lot of time up here!
To top it off there’s even a functional fitness section with a Prowler sledge, medicine balls and jump boxes – I really am in fitness paradise!
If you live in the Preston area I cannot recommend REPS Gym strongly enough – it’s the place to be if you love to workout!
