5 Books That Changed My Life…

I was never a big book reader.

My brother was always the reader – boy, his bedroom was like a library!!!

In fact, 6 years ago the only reading you’d catch me on with would be the back page of a newspaper or magazine!

And that was a big mistake, one that I’ve actively been putting right in recent years!

I have read books on a whole range of subjects, but in particular fitness, mindset and business.

Not all the books I have read have been great – in fact some have been pretty damn dreadful!

However, there have been some absolute beauties, the best 5 of which I want to share with you today……

The Chimp Paradox:

This has truly been the most life changing book I have ever read – really!

This is the book Sir Chris Hoy, Steven Gerrard and Ronnie O’Sullivan credit with ‘taking them to the next level’ in terms of mindset and performance!

This book came into my life at a time when I really needed it – and, WOW, did I need it!

Basically we all have two characters within us – the logical human and the emotional chimp!

Whilst you are not to blame if your Chimp is a jerk, you are responsible for keeping it in check – and you can!

And it all leads on from there! Buckle up for a mind re-structuring journey like never before!

This is a book you most certainly won’t just read once! It’s changed my outlook to life, which ultimately means it has changed my life.

The Strength and Conditioning Bible: How to Train Like an Athlete:

Nick Grantham really is ‘The Man’ when it comes to Strength and Conditioning.

I see him as a kind of role model for how to apply myself with regard to my own training as well as many of my clients training.

This is not just a book to read through once – rather a trusted reference point which doesn’t good out-of-date!

This book illustrates exactly why Nick is sought after by the best athletes within there respected fields.

Nick explains things in simple, evidence based terms which I find works really well.

If you are after a reliable strength and conditioning book, look no further – this is it!

How to Win Friends and Influence People:

No matter what you are doing, no matter what business you are in, no matter how much money you have or don’t have – YOU NEED TO READ THIS BOOK!

Life involves interacting with other people each and every day.

The book will teach you:

– how to treat people
– how to relate to people
– how to understand other peoples perspective
– AND, how to get them on your side!

Whilst this is a very old book, the principles are still as relevant today as they were at time of publication.

Body Transformation Meal Plan Design:

If, like me, you’re not interested in the ‘Slimming World/Weight Watchers’ type approach and want to eat a healthy sustainable diet which fits your lifestyle and goals, this is the book for you!

The book can be used in great detail or as just a reference point. Whether you want to lose weight or are an athlete, l really think this book will serve you well.

Think And Grow Rich:

Have you heard of this book? – it’s a total game changer!

If you are looking to succeed in your job, career or business – this is an absolute must read!

The list of famous and successful people who credit their success to reading this book is quite honestly to scary to list here!

And it has inspired me so much – not just in business, but in life as a whole!

The book is very well written, and this newer edition brings the original version to current times and has fantastic teachings and advise to live by.

Read it – you will never regret it or forget it!

Have you any books that have changed your life? I’d love to hear all about them.
